Course objective: The course will introduce the techniques and procedures employed for the prosthetic rehabilitation and long-term management of patients with maxillofacial defects of developmental, traumatic injury or pathologic origin.
Course description: The basic science to clinical application in prosthodontics will be presented including a wide and varied range of topics focusing on the prosthodontic rehabilitation of patients with loss and compromise of facial anatomy, i.e., ocular, orbital, nasal, auricular, combination intraoral/extraoral, and other related facial deformities due to defects of developmental, traumatic injury or pathologic origin. Also present the patient care on postgraduation therapy. Maintaining the dental health of patients who have been treated with full course radiotherapy of head and neck tumors is a difficult and lifelong challenge. |
